Inspiration

DeFi began as a revolution to free users from centralized finance, but over time it lost its balance. Freedom without stability turned to speculation, and trust was replaced by risk. Sagitta Protocol was born from a single belief: wealth should be managed by systems, not promises.

The goal is trustless wealth management, a transparent, self-regulating investment system that can manage risk, distribute profit, and preserve value without relying on intermediaries. Sagitta is built to restore trust to finance using verifiable reserves, automated logic, and transparent governance.

This is more than automation; it’s the next phase of DeFi’s evolution. Sagitta transforms financial freedom into disciplined wealth creation, bridging technology, accountability, and human intent into one unified framework.

What it does

Sagitta Protocol unites DeFi and TradFi into a HybridFi system, a network of on-chain and off-chain systems working together to manage and protect capital. DOT flows in through Polkadot’s native XCM channels and arrives as xcDOT on Moonbeam. Users deposit into The Vault, receiving NFT Receipts that represent live investment positions with real-time P&L tracking and tradable liquidity.

The Treasury acts as the liquidity brain, maintaining a 2:1 collateral ratio with the Reserve, which is backed by tokenized gold assets such as XAUT and PAXG. The Escrow system connects regulated investors and asset managers to the network through compliance onboarding and audited yield reporting. Escrow is architected for cross-parachain investment routing using XCM. Overseeing all of it is the AI Allocation Agent, which routes capital intelligently between staking, liquidity pools, and institutional portfolios.

The smart contracts run on Moonbeam, secured by Polkadot. Together, these layers form a transparent, self-regulating wealth protocol where every transaction is accountable, every asset is protected, and every user participates in the same financial standard.

How we built it

Sagitta was built for Polkadot’s multichain environment to leverage modular architecture and interoperability. The Vault, Treasury, and NFT systems were written in Solidity and deployed on Moonbeam parachain, while the frontend was built with polkadot{.js} and TypeScript to display live metrics, treasury ratios, and yield data.

Development was accelerated with GitHub Copilot, enabling fast iteration and clear structure for audit readiness. The system is designed to scale across chains and integrate future modules for DAO governance, compliance, and insurance layers.

The architecture inherits Substrate-native capabilities because it runs inside a Polkadot-secured parachain. Each contract, interface, and data feed was written with one principle in mind: trust through design, not through words.

Challenges we ran into

The greatest challenge was building a bridge between decentralized automation and institutional accountability. Combining on-chain logic with off-chain reporting required engineering a transparent Escrow layer that could meet real compliance standards while staying permissionless.

Creating an adaptive Treasury-to-Reserve model also demanded precision. Every percentage of collateral must rebalance automatically to preserve the 2:1 stability ratio, ensuring Sagitta remains self-regulating under any condition.

Finally, presenting complex systems in a way users can actually understand required design discipline. We built an interface that makes the entire economy visible; a dashboard that lets users see trust in motion. Synchronizing cross-chain data between Relay Chain and Moonbeam.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built a working HybridFi model that demonstrates real trustless wealth management. Users can deposit DOT via XCM, receive NFT Receipts that track live profits, and view real-time Treasury and Reserve behavior through the dashboard.

We implemented a gold-backed Reserve, a Treasury allocation system, and a compliance-ready Escrow framework. The foundation for an AI Allocation Agent is in place to manage risk and yield intelligently across all layers.

This version of Sagitta already proves what HybridFi can achieve: a financial protocol that blends DeFi’s freedom with the integrity of traditional finance.

What we learned

We learned that decentralization is only powerful when combined with accountability. Automation alone doesn’t inspire trust, transparency and structure do.

We discovered that true stability isn’t achieved by limiting volatility, but by designing systems that can recover, rebalance, and defend. Sagitta showed us that DeFi’s next leap forward is not speculation, but sustainable wealth creation through logic, reserves, and verifiable performance.

What's next for Sagitta Protocol

Next, we will activate on-chain staking integration, connecting the Treasury dashboard with leading staking and node infrastructure APIs such as Blockdaemon and similar providers. This will allow Sagitta to construct a strong, diversified on-chain portfolio that operates seamlessly alongside institutional strategies managed through the Escrow layer.

Sagitta will begin onboarding verified investment partners with documented performance histories through the Escrow system. These investors will form the foundation of a performance-driven marketplace within the protocol, contributing expertise and real yield to the ecosystem.

A full protocol audit is planned to certify Sagitta for institutional-scale deployment. We will launch secondary trading for NFT Receipts, enabling liquidity for active yield positions, and expand the three-layer insurance system that protects profits using Treasury smoothing, Escrow recovery funds, and gold-backed reserve gains.

Sagitta will expand across the Polkadot ecosystem, enabling cross-parachain routing of Escrow batches through XCM and attracting parachain treasuries seeking trustless, principal-protected yield.

The next phase of Sagitta moves from proof-of-concept to infrastructure. Our mission remains clear: to create the world’s first trustless wealth management protocol, capable of managing real capital, across chains, for a new era of financial independence.
