Inspiration

Our inspiration came from the ability of web3 technology to increase ownership and security. At the same time, competitors compromise user control and data safety. Through web3, we saw an opportunity to empower the user with enhanced control and data safety.

What it does

SafeVault offers users a decentralized file storage solution that allows users to have more control, safety, and privacy. Through the use of encryption and smart contracts, Safevault ensures that data is secure.

How we built it

SafeVault secures files by encrypting them on the user's device, then stores them on an encrypted network and uses smart contracts to allow for access control via the blockchain. Users authenticate with a blockchain wallet, and a web application handles file operations and blockchain interactions.

Challenges we ran into

This was all of our first times working with web3 components and, more specifically, blockchain technology. So, we struggled at first and had to spend much of our time learning before we could get a working program.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of how we were able to adapt, and even though it was our first time using web3, we were able to put together, in our opinion, a great working product.

What we learned

I think one of the most important things we learned is how to pivot and not let setbacks negatively harm us but instead, find more innovative solutions.

What's next for SafeVault

In the future, we hope to improve the amount of features SafeVault has to give users a more immersive experience on the blockchain.
