Inspiration First of all, during the transform and rain seasons in an area, the transform wire is cut and falls down in many places, people do not know that the wire is cut and fell down in that area, so many lives are lost. If the wire is cut somewhere, the transformer current should be cut immediately and the alert should go to the EB office. This is my idea.

What it does

Transformer one sensor should be set, after setting an alert machine should be placed in the EB office in the respective area, then the alert app should be registered on the cell phones of the employees working in the EB office, then connect the machine in the office to the phone have to do. Then it is better for people to download that app over all tamilnadu, if you ask why, there is a wire cut in this area, so people will get through transform sensor on their phones that people should not go to that area. Next, how about alert will come for that worker, the moment the wire is cut in the transformer, the current automatic ha off, like the sensor and wire cut, the machine in the EB office will be alerted and the labor mobile will also be alerted. Immediately the workers will go to the spot and change the new wire and turn on the current

Transformer - Power supply source

Current Sensor (CT) - Detects wire cut and overload conditions

Voltage Sensor - Detects voltage drop and phase missing

Temperature Sensor - Detects overheating of transformer

ESP32 Controller - Processes sensor data and makes fault decisions

Relay Unit - Switches OFF the transformer during a fault

Internet/Cloud - Sends fault data to the EB office

Mobile App - Provides alert and alarm notification to EB staff mobile phones

Challenges we ran into

  1. Detecting the exact wire cut without false alarms is difficult.
  2. Sensors must work properly in heavy rain, wind, and heat.
  3. The system should cut transformer power instantly for safety.
  4. Providing backup power is necessary during faults.
  5. Devices must be waterproof and weather-resistant.
  6. Lightning and voltage surges can damage electronics.
  7. Strong network connectivity is needed for quick alerts to the EB office.
  8. Installation cost can be high for multiple transformers.
  9. Regular maintenance is required to keep the system reliable.
  10. Approval and safety compliance are needed before real-world implementation. ## Accomplishments that we're proud of

  17. Proposed a solution that can improve public safety in residential areas.
  18. Built an innovative project with practical real-world application.
  19. Strengthened problem-solving and engineering design skills through this idea.
  20. Contributed toward a smarter and safer electrical infrastructure. ## What we learned
  21. Safety First: Immediate power cut when a wire breaks can prevent electric shocks and save human lives.
  22. Use of Sensors: Current and voltage sensors help detect faults like wire cuts, overload, or phase loss quickly.
  23. Automation: A smart controller (like ESP32 or microcontroller) can automatically switch OFF the transformer without waiting for manual action.
  24. Real-time Alerts: Sending instant notifications to the EB office or staff helps them respond faster and fix the problem.
  25. Smart Power Management: Combining technology with the electrical system makes power distribution safer, smarter, and more reliable. ## What's next for SAFETY FOR TRANSFORMER FIRING
  26. Do Basic Research Check if similar smart fault-detection systems already exist. Learn how electric line fault detection works.
  27. Define Your Solution Clearly Explain how your system will detect a wire cut, stop the current, and send an alert. Keep the idea simple and practical.
  28. Create a Block Diagram Show parts like sensors → controller → relay → alert system. This makes your idea easier for others to understand.
  29. Build a Small Prototype Use safe, low-voltage components for testing (never experiment with real high-voltage lines). Demonstrate how the alert and auto cut-off work.
  30. Test and Improve Check if the system reacts quickly and avoids false alarms. Improve reliability.
  31. Present Your Idea You can submit it as a college/school project, innovation contest, or science exhibition. It also looks strong for engineering fields like EEE. Mind map :
  32. Problem : *During rain and storm seasons, transformer wires may cut and fall. *People may not know the wire is live. *This can lead to serious accidents and loss of lives.
  33. Objective : *Detect wire cut immediately. *Automatically stop transformer current. *Send instant alert to the EB office.

  34. System Components *Current Sensor – detects abnormal current flow. *Voltage Sensor – identifies line break or voltage drop. *Controller (ESP32/Arduino) – processes data and makes decisions. *Relay/Breaker – turns OFF transformer supply. *Internet/GSM Module – sends alert message.
