Inspiration

Travel crash kills more people than flu or gun violence, in VA alone, 750 people die on the roadways every year. To improve travel safety and save lives.

What it does

Intersection dilemma zone warning, Alert drivers to slow down or stop when the signal ahead is about to change to yellow by consuming Signal Phase and Timing (SPaT) data.

Applicable

  • High-speed approaches (> 50 mph)
  • Lots of heavy trucks
  • The intersection is located on a downgrade (sag curve)
  • Or when the signalized intersection ahead has limited sight distance, is at an unexpected location, or a combination of these
