Hey Everyone.

We wanted to use TripAdvisor and EventBrite to create a solution for travelers that are unsure about the safety of their stay. These are typically people that just need quick hotels for short-term travel to and from an event.

To do this, we created a webpage that basically takes user input, runs it by EventBrite and populates a page with a ton of events that the user might be looking for. Then, we use the TripAdvisor API and CrimeSpotter to work out a calculation of the safest hotels in a small radius around that event.

So, in theory, the user should be able to seamlessly book a safe hotel with just the name of an event they want to go to.

We struggled a ton, and are currently struggling to meet that deadline right now-- all working full steam ahead, but everything was done in raw JS, HTML, CSS -- and we are all super proud to have worked on it at Hack-RPI
