Every day, millions of people rely on public transportation to commute across cities — but not every journey feels safe. Rising incidents of crime, harassment, and unsafe conditions on buses, trains, and stations often go unreported or unnoticed until it's too late. We built SafeTransit to bridge that gap: to empower commuters with real-time safety information, helping them make more informed decisions about their travel routes and stay aware of risks around them.

Our vision was simple what if you could input your start and end location, and instantly see a heatmap of crime and unsafe conditions along your journey? And even more, what if everyday users could crowdsource real-time reports about issues like theft, harassment, vandalism, or unsafe conditions directly from their public transit rides?

SafeTransit was born from the belief that information saves lives and that safer public transit isn't just a city responsibility, it's a community effort.
