With the upsurge in BLM protests proliferating the nation and the media’s growing evidence of police brutality more citizens every day are realizing the need, as well as the danger, in fighting against infrastructures of injustice. Knowing this, our team resolved to find a way to help protestors fight for change while reducing the danger of being hurt. That is why we decided to create SafeStrike. This mobile app was created in Figma after hours of debate, research, wireframing, and high fidelity prototyping. This app has many features aimed at helping protesters during their work; such as an announcement system to warn community members of danger and to ask for aid, directions to nearby safe spaces, and first aid guides for the protesting environment. As a result of our prototype, future protests will have more opportunities to keep all communities and their members safe.
