SafeSpaceHub

Inspiration

Our inspiration for SafeSpaceHub came from the idea to create a comprehensive platform that would bridge the gap between those in need of immediate medical attention and the facilities that could provide it. We believe that our project can potentially save lives, providing a vital service that can make a difference in those critical moments when every second counts.

What it does

SafeSpaceHub is a clinic locator and appointment booking app. The app will use geolocation technology to determine a users current location. Provide a list of nearby clinics along with essential information such as distance, estimated travel time, and contact details. Users can filter and sort the results based on factors like rating, insurance type if any, and distance. And if users don't have access to visit a doctor we also provide them with both a health providers and AI-powered chatbot designed for them to give me more information about STI.

How we built it

We built SafeSpaceHub using multiple technologies. We created our app using React native a framework used to develop applications for Android and IOS devices. Firebase was used to collect and store data and user authentication. OpenAI API is integrated with our app when users chat with a chatbot.

Challenges we ran into

One of the initial challenges we encountered was establishing partnerships with clinics, especially as a new and emerging brand in the healthcare space. We embarked on a journey to approach clinics and gauge their interest in collaborating with us. This process required persistence, clear communication, and the demonstration of the value our platform could bring to their practice and patients.

Simultaneously, securing investments was another significant hurdle. Being a relatively unknown entity, we knew the importance of attracting investors who shared our vision for revolutionizing healthcare accessibility. We diligently reached out to potential backers, showcasing the potential impact and scalability of our project. This endeavor demanded a compelling narrative and a robust business case to instill confidence in potential investors.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

One of our standout accomplishments has been the successful development of a dynamic map feature. This tool seamlessly guides users to nearby clinics, a breakthrough that lays the foundation for nationwide expansion. Its scalability potential is a testament to our forward-thinking approach, as it opens the door to providing this critical service to communities across the country.

Incorporating the AI chat feature from OpenAI was an equally transformative endeavor. This intelligent conversational interface not only enriches the user experience but also democratizes access to a powerful resource. It embodies our commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology for the betterment of healthcare accessibility.

Enabling users to directly communicate with a doctor through the app is yet another stride forward. What we learned

What we learned from building our app it is very difficult being a middle man between hospitals and a user on the app. Implementing stringent compliance measures is imperative to safeguard the interests of our app users. Additionally, it's crucial to uphold robust security practices within the app, guaranteeing the protection of sensitive data. These dual initiatives are integral to fostering a secure and trustworthy environment for all users.

What's next for SafeSpaceHub

What's next for us is getting clinics nationwide onboard with our app. Our immediate focus lies in securing partnerships with clinics across the nation, a pivotal step in broadening the accessibility of our app. This endeavor is contingent on garnering strong support from investors who recognize the significance of our role as the intermediary between users and clinics.

Looking ahead, we are poised to introduce innovative features that will further elevate the user experience. One such enhancement is a FaceTime feature embedded within the app, designed to facilitate more personal and direct interactions between users and healthcare professionals. This addition represents a significant leap forward in providing comprehensive and user-centric healthcare solutions.
