Inspiration

What inspired us to work on this project are the recent dangerous incidents that have been going on campus, and we wanted to develop something that could keep us more protected and safe from such dangers.

What it does

It displays all the recent cases and alerts/dangers that have happened over a period of time, an SOS button that provides instant help from 911, as well as alerts everybody around on campus what happened and, based on your phone location, where it is happening. The location tab provides a current live illustration of where all the cases have been recently happening, and where you should be extra cautious.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into is how to make all of our ideas come together into an app, and how to make it an efficient, better and a creative idea.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of how it all came together and the final product that came out of all of our hard work.

What we learned

We learned that while this was the first time for all of us in a hackathon, it is not as easy as it sounds, and has many things to it that include collaborative work, dedication and motivation, but we were able to come up with something actually good and that we're all proud of.

What's next for Safer U App

What's next for Safer U are probably more improvements, adding on details but still keeping it simple and to the point, and perhaps user feedback to learn how better we can make this app work.
