Inspiration

In today’s social media world, people want to share freely but also safely. Many platforms amplify negativity, harassment, and unhealthy interactions. I wanted to create a space where people can express themselves without fear — a calmer, kinder, and safer version of Instagram. That idea became SaferShare.

What it does

SaferShare is a green-themed social platform where users can: Share posts, images, and moments Browse a clean and modern feed Interact through likes and comments Enjoy a safe experience with built-in content moderation Feel confident that what they share stays respectful The focus is simplicity, positivity, and safety — not toxicity.

How we built it

I built SaferShare using: Base44 for front-end, backend, and AI-powered features Custom components for the feed, profile pages, posting UI InvokeLLM for comment moderation and labeling A green Instagram-style theme to give it a fresh identity Generated assets and custom logo styles Everything was built using prompts, iterative testing, and refinement within Base44.

Challenges we ran into

Base44 free plan limitations (no authentication page customization) Login flow issues and navigation restrictions Getting consistent styling across pages Making the logo and UI match the green theme Handling performance when updating multiple components through AI prompts Despite these, I was able to complete all core features.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Designed a complete social media platform from scratch Implemented an AI-powered comment moderation service Created a unique theme and brand identity Built a working feed, posting system, and profile page Managed to complete most features within limited Base44 credits Learned how to work through platform limitations creatively

Add custom green-themed logo variations Improve feed layout and animations Add support for stories (like Instagram) Add messaging and notifications Implement better onboarding Introduce more AI tools like auto-captioning and smart filters Publish the platform publicly for others to try
