Inspiration

As computing security students, we understand the need for privacy when it comes to sharing location. Furthermore, we wanted to create an app that met all the needs of individuals who have disabilities.

What it does

The backend code we have takes three locations near you (user provided) and returns perturbed locations. These coordinates are near your specified location but don't reveal your actual location. And based on these fake locations it provides you with a good spot to meet in the area.

How we built it

We used python for the backend and a very simple React based front-end. But our focus was the backend.

What's next for SafeRoute

The goal is to include a camera that reads ASL which we we train using existing AI models. We also plan to incorporate features like text-to-speech, and area detection based on camera.
