Inspiration
Community Ride Apps can be very unsafe if timely identification of users with malicious intentions is not performed. But we must keep the benefits of ride sharing available to the community.
What it does
Proposes a community feedback based incident reporting and verification system to identify bad actors and penalise them
How we built it
We used Angular and Flutter to develop an ecosystem containing the user app, reporting feature and an admin panel for reviewing the incident details. Trip members can provide the feedback privately to Admin Panel for inquiry proceedings. Based on results of inquiry, a proven-guilty user can be flagged and penalised.
Users can report incidents with pre defined types and severity. Once an incident is reported, other trip members can privately provide their comments on it to the members of Admin Panel. Based on the inquiry on these details, Admin Panel can then identify and penalise bad actors.
Challenges we ran into
Encouraging timely reporting and obtaining user feedback can be challenging. We can consider incentivising users with App Credit for providing input on incidents they were involved in
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Developed and implemented a prototype for the proposed implementation
What we learned
How to develop community powered feedback systems, their human challenges, limitations
