A web appliction that enables victims of online scams/ frauds to report anonymously to concerned authorities authorities. Also helps in satying safe by providing safety measures and tips.

Inspiration

Many victims of online scams and abuse often neglect reporting about it to the concerned authorities worrying about their safety and family’s reputation in society. So if there was a way where the victims get assured that they can come up and speak up with their identity remaining anonymous many of the cases would be complained as a result the crimes done by culprits gets reduced fearing for the fact that their crimes/ abuses are going unnoticed no longer.

What it does

  1. We take the input from the user under what type of scam or abuse they are facing in from online scams: credit card scams, donation scams, phishing, fake job offers, Verbal abuse and report the same with the concerned authorities like she team, cyber crime department.
  2. We also provide safety measures and tips and some tutorials on how to stay safe online and in real life too in case of any emergency situation.
  3. We also provide the option to share your GPS location to the nearest police station or to already saved contacts.
  4. We provide a platform where in the users can interact with each other as a text based platform so that it would be easy for them to cope up from their trauma. As everyone had a experience relating to the same they would be empathetic in providing emotional support to each other. ## How we built it
  5. We used html to build the front end of the project.
  6. Backend is done using phpmyadmin to create and store data base from user input files and login details.

Challenges we ran into

  1. The primary challenge we faced in was to establish a connection between front end and backend.
  2. The storage of input in database was also one of the challenges we faced.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  1. We finally overcame our challenges by getting used to a new platform we were unaware of before- xampp- phpmyadmin.
  2. We were able to create a forum for the users to interact so that they can they are not alone in this.

What we learned

  1. We learned the new technologies used in creating a web application and learned to over come the problems we faced in using those technologies. Like getting used to its environment of working.
  2. We also have improved our problem solving skills and technical skills during the hackathon . ## What's next for Safer together by DFG team-254
  3. We need make our website more secure.
  4. Get the coordination from police authorities to take our project forward our project. The ultimate action is taken by the police authorities. So we need to pass the data we receive to them.
