I am a small adult woman. Unfortunately, I have been assaulted over ten times. It's a scary world out there, and you can't always get to your phone in an emergency.
Safeplanon is a theoretical implanted safety device that contacts 911 based on changes in your heart rate and body position.
I used Python because as of right now, it is the programming language I am most proficient in. A few of my friends helped me fine-tune the code.
The hardest part for me was how to contact 911. I actually used AI to help me write that part of the code.
This is the first project for data science that I have ever completed. I know that my code is not great, but I'm looking at this as a learning experience.
I learned that you can use Twilio to call or text someone from the internet.
Safeplanon is going to be theoretical, at least for a long time. I'm fairly certain that Merck has a patent on parts of the technology, and I am unsure if an ECG sensor would work in the implanted location.
