safePass, the Passport for COVID era for every citizen

Inspiration

  • The recent COVID pandemic has changed our lifestyles, we wanted to make a change to engage the public again help with awareness of spread and help local business be in control of their daily customers.
  • safePass, will ensure that every user holding the Passport can have easy access to any location.

What it does

  • safePass, gives every user a Passport that gives 3 status - Safe, Warning, & Danger, with these statuses it's easy to tag any person with COVID exposure.
  • This clearance is done, using tracking intersections of each individual GPS trace, once an user updates if he's been tested COVID positive. Once the update, is done our platform ripples across timelines for all our users and changes their passport status.
  • This gives our platform users high level visibility over COVID hotspots.
  • We also provide a public Google Map display that shows COVID proximity zones, which gives the user more awareness.
  • One of our core components, include reporting to Public Feed for any positive messages or COVID exposure status - this is analyzed using IBM Cloud NLU (Natural Language Understanding API) to tag the feed if it has COVID exposure information.

How we built it

  • The platform was built within a strict timeline of just 12 hours.
  • The frontend is completely React.js and the backend is created in Laravel PHP and MySQL Database.
  • The core functionalities maps API and Feed Post are built using the Google Cloud and IBM cloud API, leveraging such powerful technology over APIs helped the product to be built faster with accurate information.

  • Integration challenges.
  • API integration issues.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of
