Inspiration

I had been noticing for a while now on the news that people without the knowledge about cybersecurity are getting scammed.

What it does

SafeNET is a browser extension which when used helps to detect if the links are being used for phishing or pharming and if they are safe to visit or not.

How we built it

I built the basic structure by myself. Then, I used AI to debug and make it a bit better. Afterwards, I added some more features by myself and altered a bit of CSS.

Challenges we ran into

Firstly, after AI made it a bit better, I was facing this issue that the 'Scan Again' button was becoming unclickable. Secondly, there was also a bug that the blue line which appeared on the screen while scanning was not coming. Thirdly, the score was also coming inaccurate on McAfee http sites.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that I made a browser extension and participated in LUMA hackathon.

What we learned

I learned how to make browser extensions and also learnt new commands in JavaScript.

What's next for SafeNET

I shall make a website for SafeNET which will be teaching people about cybersecurity through fun games and interactive lessons. I will make the extension available on more browsers and also publish it. Afterwards, when I learn C++, I shall make an executable file for SafeNET so that it is not only limited to your browsers.
