Safemaps Cupertino

In order to run

Make sure to have python3, and pip

pip (or pip3) install -r requirements.txt

If prompted that flask is not installed - please execute the command pip install flask

python app.py

Inspirations

We were inspired to create Safemaps because we wanted to track the COVID-19 pandemic in Cupertino before we reopen our schools.

Learnings

We learned how to utilize a complicated API such as the google maps API.

Challenges

The challenges we faced were obtaining proper markers for the map, and collaborating online, because, for some of us, this was the first time we used GitHub in a collaborative sense.
