Inspiration

Recent current events and the impact on communities from Hurricane Helene.

What it does

During and after crises, communities often experience isolation, communication breakdowns, and limited access to vital resources. Safelink directly addresses these pain points by fostering community connectivity, facilitating collaborative rebuilding, and supporting users with proactive crisis management tools.

How we built it

• Hosted on Netlify
• Built with React and Vite
• Designed using TailwindCSS, shadcn/ui
• Pigeon Maps for mapping

Challenges we ran into

• What happens if a device goes offline?
• Figuring out revenue model
• For most of us, it was our first hackathon and so we had to learn to prioritize what we could realistically do in two days.
