Inspired by renters who sign with incomplete information, SafeLease focuses on Norfolk, Virginia: it pulls community issue reports (optional photos), resident pulse votes, and demo lease and management context into one property view, next to a composite risk score from weighted issue types and severity, shown as low, medium, or high. We built Django REST Framework + SQLite, a Vite + React hub (search, listings, map, stats), and an Expo mobile client—one REST API for all clients. A management command seeds demo data; the web app falls back to bundled Norfolk listings if the API is down. People can submit reports and pulses through the API; the static map credits OpenStreetMap. Scores are informational, not legal advice—read your lease and verify in person. Next: trust and safety, interactive maps, and clearer score breakdowns in the UI.
