✨ Inspiration We were inspired by the everyday worries parents face when children wander off in crowded places. As engineering students, we wanted to use technology to solve a real problem that impacts families worldwide. :

🚀 What it does SafeKid Wristband (ChildGuard ) is a smart wearable paired with a mobile app. It instantly alerts parents when:

A child moves beyond a safe zone

Unusual movement patterns suggest distress

The wristband is removed unexpectedly

This ensures real‑time protection for children in crowded places, schools, and during travel.

🛠️ How we built it Designed a wristband prototype concept with GPS, accelerometer, and heart rate sensor.

Wrote detection logic in C for embedded systems.

Created a mobile app mockup showing “Child Safe / Alert Triggered.”

Built flowcharts and diagrams to explain detection logic.

Recorded a short demo video to showcase the idea.

⚡ Challenges we ran into Limited time to build full hardware, so we focused on a prototype + simulation.

Integrating multiple sensors (GPS + accelerometer + heart rate) into one design.

Learning how to balance technical depth with clarity for judges.

Coordinating tasks as a 2‑member team.

🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of Built our first hackathon project from scratch.

Designed a solution that addresses a real‑world safety problem.

Successfully integrated health monitoring (heart rate) with safety alerts.

Learned how to present ideas clearly and impactfully

📚 What we learned Basics of anomaly detection using AI.

How heart rate sensors can detect stress or unconsciousness.

Importance of user experience and clarity in hackathon submissions.

How to collaborate effectively under time pressure.

🔮 What's next for SafeKid Wristband (ChildGuard ) Build a working prototype with affordable sensor modules.

Extend the solution to elder care and women’s safety.

Partner with schools and NGOs to pilot the device.

Add advanced AI features for stress/emotion detection using heart rate + motion data.
