AI Threat Detection in SafeHome AI means using artificial intelligence to analyze camera footage and identify activities that may be unsafe.
For example, if a person enters your house when nobody is expected, the system could detect the person, identify the unusual activity, and send an alert to the homeowner.
How it works:
- Capture: A security camera captures video.
- Analyze: An AI model analyzes the video to detect people, movement, or other predefined activities.
- Identify: The system checks whether the detected activity matches a configured security rule.
- Alert: If a potential threat is detected, it sends a notification to the homeowner.
- Respond: The homeowner can review the alert and decide what action to take.
Example: Someone enters a restricted area at 2 AM. The system detects a person, checks the time and configured security rules, and generates a potential intrusion alert.
For SafeHome AI, you could implement this using Python, OpenCV, and a person-detection model such as YOLO.
One important point: detecting a person does not automatically mean that person is a threat. AI should identify suspicious activity based on defined rules, and the homeowner should be able to verify the alert.
This feature will only work with real camera footage and an integrated AI model. If your current dashboard uses simulated camera feeds, threat detection is not yet operating in the real world.
