Inspiration
There is a need to protect taxi drivers that remain working during quarantine. In China drivers install DIY frames with protective film to minimize spread of the saliva droplets. Yet it's not easy to install, use and clean those systems. link link
What it does
The SafeTaxi is a transparent plastic shield that separates the driver and client from each other to reduce the risk of infection.
How we built it
We built a preliminary 3D model to test sizes and advance further the concept.
Challenges we ran into
Ventilation - how to avoid spreading the virus via car ventilation system? Impermeability - how impermeable should it be? How to provide maximum of impermeability.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We've researched safety regulations and created 2 concepts of the possible shape of the SafeTaxi shield.
