Inspiration

Home safety is important for everyone, especially elderly people, people living alone, and families who want to stay informed about activity around their homes. We created SafeConnect AI to explore how smart home security technology can make everyday safety more accessible and convenient.

What it does

SafeConnect AI is a smart home-safety web application concept designed to bring home activity alerts, visitor updates, and trusted-contact support into one simple dashboard.

Key features include:

Activity Dashboard: A central place to view home activity events.
Smart Alerts: Display supported doorbell and motion events.
Delivery Monitoring: Organize delivery and visitor activity.
Trusted Contacts: Provide a way to reach selected family members or friends.
Accessibility Mode: Offer readable text, large buttons, and simple navigation.

How we built it

We are developing the prototype using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Our planned Ring integration uses the supported Ring developer tools or simulator to demonstrate home activity events.

Challenges and future improvements

A key challenge is connecting the user interface to real or simulated Ring events while keeping the experience simple and accessible. Future improvements include event summaries, configurable alerts, and more complete trusted-contact workflows.
