Inspiration

I wanted to be able to leave my stuff on my desk and go somewhere without having to think about anyone taking my things.

What it does

It takes a photo of the person coming towards your desk and sends it to you via text message.

How I built it

I used a raspberry pi with a picamera and used OpenCV to detect faces coming near. Then I sent the photo using Twilio API.

Challenges I ran into

Using raspberry pi without a monitor or stable wifi.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

This was my first time using the raspberry pi.

What's next for SafeCam

I will hookup it up to a Nerf gun to shoot at people coming near my desk. Also an android app to view the live stream.
