Inspiration

Food delivery platforms show customer ratings and reviews, but they do not reveal actual food safety risks. Customers often order food without knowing the hygiene conditions of a restaurant kitchen. This inspired us to build SafeBite AI to make restaurant hygiene fully transparent.

What it does

SafeBite AI is an intelligent predictive Food Safety Intelligence Platform. It analyzes hygiene scores, customer complaints, and past safety trends to predict health risks before an order is placed. It offers Explainable AI Scores, 7-Day Risk Forecasts, and a Government Dashboard for public health monitoring.

How we built it

We built the functional prototype using Replit. The system simulates the integration of food safety APIs and municipal complaint databases to generate automated safety risk ratings.

Challenges we faced

Developing an Explainable AI model that doesn't just show a risk score but clearly explains the underlying reasons (like kitchen sanitation or low complaints) was a complex data mapping challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully created a working UI dashboard that bridges the gap between basic user reviews and actual public health intelligence data.

What we learned

We learned how predictive analytics and data trends can be applied to open public data to encourage better food safety standards across city venues.

What's next for SafeBite AI

In production, we plan to integrate this platform directly with real-time FSSAI inspection APIs and live municipal health department databases.
