Inspiration
We knew whether it be from our own experiences or ones of others, that when women come forward with their struggles they are often not given the support they need. This inspired us to create a platform that allows women to share their experiences, get support, as well as daily affirmations.
What it does?
Our group created a website that acts as a "safe space" for female users. With this, they are able to chat with those who have experienced similar problems and share positive affirmations & support.
How we built it
We created and designed our website with HTML, CSS, and a little bit of JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
The most challenging part was the code. Often times we'd oversee small mistakes and the lack of time definitely restricted us from creating a better website.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Something that made us proud was seeing the website come alive that had originally been an idea we were unsure of. It felt like an accomplishment when there was something wrong with the code and we were finally able to fix it.
What we learned
We learned new HTML coding elements and how to create the basic format of a website. We saw the same commands being used in different ways, which we found very cool.
What's next for Safe Space
We would like to further expand Safe Space's purposes by adding more interactive features or functionality that way our users are able to utilize our tool.
