I am not a good soccer player, but I like playing soccer. These days, I used to play with a mask, which is not easy to do when it comes to breathing. So, designing a flexible 3D printed mask, that can ease breathing is really helpful to help people get back to the field safely and enjoy soccer.
It is a multilayered mask, with many grooves to mechanically filter air with aerosol (which is heavier) from clean air. partially, it also makes use of the difference in total pressure between the nose area of the player and the back side of the face to drive air through the grooves.
I am still in the design phase, using SOLIDWORKS.
I think the 3D printing phase will be the most challenging, because I need to get rid of any support structures.
If this idea is a success, group sports can get back soon.
