Inspiration

Pregnant women are at significant risks for Maternal, Child, and Infant mortality especially in regards to air quality and extreme heat. The idea is to notify them to take precautions in case the air quality or heat is unsafe, given that many people do not often check the air quality or heat index before stepping outside. The notifications are sparse and only in true emergencies to not overwhelm them but to make sure they take true action and listen, and also forecast so women can make decisions pre-emptively and rearrange their days.

Story

A pregnant woman visits a doctor and is enrolled in a mobile Health initiative OR a pregnant woman just enrolls in in the initiative (and can later on take the data to a doctor). They input: location

Solution

When the AQI/heat > [localized threshold], a message gets sent to the woman: “The AQI/Heat is EXTREMELY HIGH today, please take precaution to stay inside. If you must go outside, wear a mask. The AQI/Heat forecast for the next three days is bad, good, good. Please watch out for further messages in case this changes. If you want more information, please respond with any word”
