Inspiration

We were inspired by the lack of accessible, engaging sex education resources for teenagers. Many still face misinformation or discomfort discussing topics like consent and boundaries. We wanted to create a safe, relatable, and interactive way to learn through storytelling and choices.

What It Does

Safe Lines is an interactive video game that helps teenagers explore real-life situations around relationships, boundaries, and safety. Players make decisions in branching storylines and learn from the consequences : turning difficult topics into empathetic, reflective experiences.

How We Built It

We used Sora to generate most of the game’s visuals and built the project on Unity, combining narrative design, psychology, and visual art to bring it to life. -Crafted branching stories inspired by real challenges teens face -Used a visual-novel format for interactive decision-making -Designed comic-style visuals for an approachable tone

Challenges We Ran Into

Balancing realism with sensitivity was our biggest challenge. We also worked hard to make the content culturally adaptable, keep the gameplay engaging, and manage technical limitations with branching dialogue and assets.

Accomplishments We’re Proud Of

-Built a functional, story-driven prototype -Developed meaningful, empathetic narratives about consent and safety

What We Learned

We learned that effective sex education combines emotion, empathy, and interaction. Through this project, we strengthened our skills in inclusive design and realized the power of games to foster safe, open conversations.

What’s Next for Safe Lines

We plan to expand Safe Lines with new storylines, multilingual support, and partnerships with schools and youth programs. Our goal is to make it a global learning tool that helps teenagers everywhere build awareness, confidence, and respect.
