Inspiration
There are members of the city that are exposed to the environmental elements on a regular basis. In cold weather, the risk of frostbite and hypothermia. In hot weather, severe sunburn and heatstroke can occur. Provide peace of mind of safety and using knit technology for comfort. This could provide not only a safe place to sleep but also smart technology to connect and regulate the micro-environment of the sleeping system.
What it does
Provide a viable shelter that could be used for basic needs: keep you warm when it is cold and keep you cool when it is hot.
How I built it
After analyzing a social justice, we decided to experiment using knit technology for a compression state, making an insulation layer over the user. The same knitting pattern allows for an alternative stretched state, making the same material a thin membrane allowing airflow.
