The idea for Medicaid came from a profound concern for the 20% of the US population reliant on Medicaid—among the most vulnerable in our communities, the sick, and the poor. Despite being a crucial lifeline for millions, the Medicaid system remains staggeringly outdated, especially considering it's a $600 billion market. Inspired by our backgrounds in developing technology and data pipelines for highly regulated industries, we set out to revolutionize Medicaid payments in a secure data environment.

What it does

Medicaid leverages AI and blockchain technology to overhaul the Medicaid payment process. It automates coding and billing, ensures HIPAA compliance and PII anonymization, provides instant and secure payments, and uses data analytics for continuous improvement. Our solution is designed to reduce fraud, cut administrative costs, and significantly improve the efficiency of Medicaid payments—bringing a 21st-century tech solution to a system in dire need of innovation.

How we built it

We constructed Medicaid by integrating cutting-edge AI for automatic billing code generation and PII data protection, alongside blockchain technology for its secure, immutable ledger capabilities. Our team developed smart contracts to automate claim verification and instant payments, ensuring accuracy and reducing fraud. We focused on creating a user-friendly interface for healthcare providers, enabling them to seamlessly adapt to the new system without disrupting their existing workflows.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest hurdles we faced was ensuring our solution met all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA compliance, while also providing state-of-the-art security and privacy.
