Inspiration----I grew up in that retro village where there was dust to the nose and remained behind a pile of dirt, I went with the decision that end such decisively. Moved to the city, saw this and developed an app enabling anyone receiving our notifications of waste by photos, in conjunction with a municipal cleanup agency whilst rewarding users some coins many deals ok.

What it does-----I have created an app to give users the power to report waste materials such as plastic bottles and garbage simply by taking a picture. These pictures are then forwarded to the municipal corporation that responds by sending clean-up personnel to the area. The people then receive coins for every report that can be exchanged for reductions or vouchers. It encourages association with the community, helps to keep the place clean, and rewards the residents for taking part. The application connects the technological and the civil aspects in an environmentally friendly way.

How we built it---Upon encountering the persistent issue of unmanaged waste, we delved into areas where this was a common occurrence and engaged with residents to understand their perspectives and the causes of their distress. After extensive conversations, we concluded that this problem demands urgent attention. We then consulted with local municipal corporation officers to devise an efficient solution. With their guidance, we developed an innovative app to address this issue.

Challenges we ran into-------They have done all the hard work and it was not easy to build this app. This was a new experience for me and I met with some initial resistance, it caused countless sleepless nights. Troublesome coordination with municipal corporations and continuous bug hunts in the app. Juggling my day job with everything going wrong here does not help either but perserverence prevails.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

What we learned

What's next for SafaiSnap------This is still in the ideation phase as of now. We have made a prototype in figma, the framework is designed and a flow chart is drawn. The next step requires a collaboration with the municipal corporation to incorporate and act on waster reports. It is quite a road to travel with much experience and challenges, but the dream that our community will be cleaner motivates us.
