Inspiration
We all get stuck on small problems- like cutting an onion without tearing up or stopping a minor bleeding quickly. We wanted to build a space where simple, clever solutions are just a search away.
What it does
HackTips lets users easily add, edit, and delete practical tips. They can search, filter, and sort tips, share them with others, like them, and save their favorites. It’s a simple way to share knowledge and quickly find solutions when you need them most.
How we built it
We built HackTips using Readdy, a no-code platform that allowed us to prototype quickly and iterate smoothly. Its tools made testing features and refining the design simple, letting us focus on creating a clean and intuitive user experience without worrying about technical setup.
Challenges we ran into
One challenge was coming up with an idea that is meaningful and valuable. We wanted to create something that truly helps people, not just a fun app-so we focused on a solution that adds real, practical value to everyday life.
Another challenge was choosing the right platform. We considered coding everything ourselves, setting up a server and a full website, or using AI/no-code tools. Choosing Readdy allowed us to save time, focus on the user experience, and add more features quickly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud that we were able to create a project with real added value-helping people find practical tips when they get stuck in everyday situations. We’re also proud that by submitting HackTips to this hackathon, we contributed to #TeamWater, donating a year of water to those in need.
What we learned
We learned how to collaborate effectively as a team, refining our idea and polishing it step by step. We also learned to think from the user’s perspective, focusing on creating a smooth and intuitive experience. Beyond technical skills, we improved our problem-solving, creativity, and ability to adapt quickly when facing challenges.
What’s next for HackTips
We plan to expand HackTips with voting, favorites, and community-driven features. Our goal is to make the app accessible in multiple languages so that anyone can use it, removing language barriers and allowing people around the world to share and discover practical tips.
