S-Bob has won the Hackathon for 2021, now we seek to create a marketplace where we can sell sustainable produce, common use items and poultry to the people of Mathare/Nairobi, at a reduced price.
Inspiration- Need of the Mathare people for lower cost goods and sustainable industries in the slum
What it does- Takes the loans made through other submission (S-Bob Loan Origination) and allows those with these loans to have lower interest and access to sellers platform in S-Bob Soko to sell their products at a lower price than the common marketplace.
How we built it- We built it using the Open APIs of Finastra and S-Bob App
Challenges we ran into- We ran into Language barriers, issues with electricity and technology, and a general lack of knowledge on how to do research on projects.
Accomplishments that we're proud of- We are proud to have learned how to navigate the internet and provide statistics that support our cause, we are also proud in that our idea will help the Mathare people come out of poverty (at some level), through use of the low cost goods.
What we learned- We learned what OpenAPI's were, what a circular economy was and how to connect our ideas for the Hackathon together to show the power of S-Bob's Open API's
What's next for S-Bob Soko (MarketPlace)- The S-Bob Soko will seek to get funds from the S-Bob Regeneration Fund submission, then it will use those funds to provide low cost loans to the Mathare people and then we will create the Soko on the app for all people to use that are members of S-Bob.
I worked hard tirelessly to create amarket place for the people of math are to be able to sell their products easily. This was my first time to take the competition it was little bit hard but I did all that had to do with a lot of courage .I am looking forward to see the success of s-bob soko this will bring a great impact to people living in Margaret conductin business to sell their products and market their goods thruogh the Internet.
