Inspiration S-Bob Sacco Won the HttF 2021. We seek to improve the way of life for the Mathare people, as well as create sustainable industries for the Mathare Slum.
What it does- The S-Bob Regeneration Fund provides revenue back to the S-Bob Sacco owners. They will then use the funds to invest in the Mathare Industrial sector with sustainable industries to produce goods, services and food to be sold on the S-Bob Soko (Marketplace in Swahili) app. They would also provide loans to the Mathare people through the S-Bob OpenAPI's working with Finastra Trust Machine to provide low interest loans.
How we built it- S-Bob CTO already has built a demo, it will take the expertise of Finastra and S-Bob Sacco owners to put together the TrustMachine and OpenAPI's that established the app in the first place.
Challenges we ran into- Language Barriers, electricity and internet outages, lack of experience in presenting for the young kids.
Accomplishments that we're proud of- We are proud of our ideas for creating sustainable industries within the Mathare slum which will help reduce poverty in the region by providing jobs and lower cost food and water.
What we learned- We learned about OpenAPI's, Circular Economy and how to do research on the internet
What's next for S-Bob Regeneration Fund- Next would be to get the Finastra team with the S-Bob team to create a plan for the UI for the app, look into lending requirements in Kenya and make sure we are following all the rules and procedures to establish a sustainable business.
