Ryder is a unified marketplace that lets workers view delivery job listings (by companies like Uber etc.) and choose the best paying jobs that fit around their schedule - all paying hourly wages.
Inspiration: The recent Supreme Court ruling initiated a flurry of articles on the working condition of the gig economy worker. Therefore, we decided to design an app to solve the plight of the gig economy worker.
What it does: An app for delivery riders that puts riders’ needs first. Ryder is a unified marketplace that lets workers view delivery job listings and choose the best paying jobs that fit around their schedule - all paying hourly wages. Companies like Uber can post jobs that pay by the hour based on their demand needs. Vetted riders then view and choose jobs based on their preferences. It’s that simple.
How we built it: We conducted extensive primary and secondary research and then used figma to design a prototype.
Challenges we ran into: Designing a product from scratch, with a new team, without an idea to begin with was pretty challenging.
What's next for Ryder - Drive your earnings: Further deep dive into the product-market fit. There is a business to be created here :)
