Inspiration
Millions of people in rural communities struggle to access reliable information about farming, healthcare, education, and government schemes. We wanted to build an AI assistant that provides simple, accurate, and local-language support, making technology accessible to everyone.
What it does
Rural AI Assistant helps users by answering questions about farming, government schemes, healthcare, education, and daily life in simple language. It provides easy-to-understand guidance and is designed to support people with limited digital experience.
How we built it
We built the project using OpenAI APIs, Codex for coding assistance, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and a backend service to process user requests. The application is designed with a simple interface that works well on both desktop and mobile devices.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was designing an AI assistant that gives clear and useful answers for different rural needs. We also worked on keeping the interface simple and planning for multilingual support.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully built a working AI assistant focused on solving real-world rural problems. We're proud that our project aims to create social impact by making AI more accessible for underserved communities.
What we learned
During this project, we learned how to integrate OpenAI APIs, use Codex to speed up development, improve prompt engineering, and build AI applications that solve practical problems.
What's next for Rural AI Assistant
Our next goal is to add support for more Indian languages, voice input and output, offline capabilities, image-based crop disease detection, and integration with government services to make the assistant even more useful for rural communities.
