Inspiration
The father of a friend has been stuck completing a recertification process to become a Canadian Doctor for almost a decade. This solution offers a solution to doctors who trained in Canada, but practice abroad.
What it does
Connect rural communities and aboriginal people to doctors that practice abroad, as well as alleviating the current burdened Canadian Healthcare system.
How we built it
Our website was built using JavaScript, React, Vite for our frontend; our backend was built using Supabase, we deployed our website using Netlify.
Challenges we ran into
Learning a new language such javascript and html, learning how to properly use Github and not push everything to main.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Clean UI design, presentation, and implementation of necessary APIs.
What we learned
Learned about the disparities Rural Communities face when accessing healthcare, and the challenges that stand tall for these communities which explain why haven't more solutions been put forward and implemented sooner.
What's next for Rural Access Medicine Spark 2026
Follow through on our calls to action, specifically involving the Federal and Provincial Governments to implement policies to evaluate Rural Access Medicine as a potential form of treatment and preventative care for Rural Communities.
