RUPrepped — Practice for the Moments That Matter
Everyone has experienced the pressure of an important conversation. Whether it's a job interview, a class presentation, a public speech, or simply meeting new people, knowing what to say and how to say it can make all the difference. Yet most people don't have an accessible, realistic way to practice these situations before they happen.
That's where RUPrepped comes in.
RUPrepped is an AI-powered communication and interview preparation platform designed to help people practice, improve, and build confidence in high-pressure situations. While our primary focus is helping students and job seekers prepare for interviews, our broader mission is to make personalized communication practice accessible to everyone.
Using Google Gemini, RUPrepped transforms a user's resume and background into a personalized mock interview experience. Rather than relying on generic questions, our platform generates questions relevant to the user's experiences, evaluates their responses, and provides actionable feedback to help them improve. Its adaptive difficulty system adjusts the interview experience based on performance, allowing users to progressively challenge themselves and strengthen their skills.
To make the experience even more immersive, RUPrepped also integrates Presage SmartSpectra, enabling optional, consent-based physiological measurements through a webcam, including pulse and breathing rate. These measurements offer an additional perspective during practice while remaining completely separate from answer evaluation and grading. RUPrepped also include 11Labs showcasing the amazing text to speech features which provides realistic dialog within simulations. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where users can develop their communication skills without being judged by their physiological responses.
But we believe preparation shouldn't stop at job interviews.
The same skills that help someone succeed in an interview, thinking on their feet, organizing their thoughts, communicating clearly, and responding confidently, are valuable in countless everyday situations. We envision expanding RUPrepped to support class presentations, public speaking, networking conversations, social interactions, and other real-world communication scenarios.
Imagine rehearsing a presentation before stepping in front of your classmates, practicing a networking conversation before attending a career fair, or building confidence before introducing yourself to someone new. RUPrepped aims to make these experiences less intimidating by giving users a place to practice, learn from mistakes, and improve at their own pace.
Built using React, TypeScript, 11Labs, FastAPI, Python, Google Gemini, Node.js, and Presage SmartSpectra, RUPrepped combines personalized AI experiences with real-time technology to create a foundation for more accessible communication training.
Ultimately, we're building RUPrepped around a simple belief: confidence isn't something you have to be born with. It's something you can build through practice.
