The problem
Almost no one can answer the most important question about their money: if my income stopped today, how long could I last - and what would break me first? A single runway number (savings divided by monthly expenses) is the clearest measure of financial safety, but it takes a spreadsheet, and it says nothing about which shock sinks you.
What Runway does
- Baseline - type income, expenses and savings; get your exact zero-cash date, a 0-100 resilience score, and one concrete next step.
- Stress test - one click applies a real shock (rent jumps 25%, a $5,000 medical bill, a $2,000 emergency, costs rise 40%) and shows the new runway, the new zero-cash date, and how many months you just lost.
- Extend your runway - ranked, quantified actions ("cut $500/mo of expenses gives +0.6 months", "add one month of expenses to savings gives +1.0 months") computed by re-running the model, so you see the real payoff of each move.
Why it wins
- Provable privacy: everything runs in your browser. Open the network tab and reload - zero requests. There is no server to send anything to.
- Honest by design: a positive-income earner with $0 savings reads Critical, not Resilient - the score comes from reserves, not wishful trajectory.
- Real impact: financial resilience as a free, private, offline decision tool for the people who need it most and have it least - gig workers, freelancers, farmers with seasonal income.
How we built it
Vanilla JavaScript, zero dependencies, works fully offline. A pure, deterministic engine with a 112-check test suite. Built and hardened with amini-code multi-agent runs.
