Inspiration
Runway Rampage Zombie Apocalypse was inspired by my love for survival shooters and the rush of outlasting impossible odds. I wanted to capture that chaotic, edge-of-your-seat energy inside a cinematic setting, an airplane hangar turned battlefield. It’s about fast thinking, relentless waves, and that moment when panic turns into pure adrenaline.
What it does
Runway Rampage is a fast-paced zombie wave shooter set in an airplane hangar. It challenges players to survive escalating waves of enemies using precise aim, quick strategy, and resource management. Designed for replayability and intensity, it delivers nonstop action in a confined, environment.
How we built it
Runway Rampage is a high-energy remixed world built for replayability and competition. I wanted players to challenge their personal best and each other while keeping the gameplay simple, smooth, and skill-driven. We put a lot of focus on creating a unique setting—an airplane hangar instead of the usual zombie backdrops—and optimized it for mobile so anyone can jump in, even without a headset.
Challenges we ran into
One of our biggest challenges was balancing the number of zombies on screen with performance. We wanted the gameplay to feel intense and chaotic without sacrificing frame rate or stability. Finding that sweet spot between high energy and smooth performance took a lot of fine-tuning and optimization.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re really proud of how Runway Rampage plays—its smooth controls, balanced pacing, and immersive setting. We put a lot of thought into making sure both new and experienced players could jump in, have fun, and feel challenged without feeling overwhelmed. It’s accessible, fast, and rewarding at every skill level.
What we learned
We learned that balancing fun, intensity, skill, and social play—especially while optimizing for mobile—is a real tightrope walk. It taught us how important it is to fine-tune every detail while still leaving room for creativity. Thinking outside the box pushed us to create something fresh that still feels familiar and fun to play.
What's next for Runway Rampage Zombie Apocalypse
We plan to expand Runway Rampage with more weapons and an upgraded reward system to keep players engaged and motivated. We’ve learned that players love testing their limits, but they also value progression—earning new rewards and recognition for improving their skills keeps the experience exciting and replayable.
