Inspiration
This is my first hackathon and at first I was not going to make any project since I came in alone as a freshman with basic knowledge of Java. However, my upperclassman friend encouraged me and provided resource for me to build my own project. So I started my project last night, I ended up choosing something related to running because I used to run cross-country and track in high school. I had to spend a lot of time researching different running plans to improve myself. However, running is all about running at your own pace. It is important to have a running plan that is designed for you. This can decrease the risk injuries and help to improve your running time faster.
What it does
So my code was pretty far from my abstract idea. I ended working all of the time front end. On the website, when you click on "build your plan" it takes you to chatgpt. When you click on the premium, it takes you to my venmo. When you click on sample on the nav, it will take your to another page with sample running plan for different level of runner. If you click on the contact on the nav, it will take you to my instagram.
How we built it
I first built the basic layout in Figma. Then, I used the Figma dev mode to convert it into HTML which I imported into Vscode and run it there. In Vscode, I added media, edit the layout, and made interactive component of the website.
Challenges we ran into
Before this, I had zero prior knowledge of html so I was making the website while learning HTML. Also, when running the code straight imported from Figma dev code, it didn't look what it supposed to look like. So I had navigate the disorganized lines of HTML code from Figma dev mode to see where I need to edit it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building something from scratch using the resources provided.
What we learned
Use the resource you have! And never be afraid to try.
What's next for RunRU
This is technically my first own personal project so I will try to keep adding to it as I improve my skills.
