We would not like to be included in the judging.
Inspiration
As children, we were deeply involved with games ranging from World of Warcraft to Runescape, so we decided to build a beginner programming project based on MMORPG's concepts.
What it does
Our minigame puts you in the position of a starting adventure to fight a monster you spot on top of a hill. By typing in commands and pressing the "Enter" key repeatedly to fight, you are able to advance to new levels fighting harder bosses as you progress.
How We built it
We built it by using the C++ programming language in addition to the Repl.it, an online compiler. We also utilized Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 to debug the program as well.
Challenges I ran into
Some challenges we ran into were that we were complete beginners who had little coding experience so starting the project was fairly challenging. There were also a lot of bugs that were hard to figure out due to our lack of knowledge in coding. As this was our first considerably large program, we faced several issues with organization that led to incorrect addition of brackets.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Accomplishments that we were proud of was actually creating a working code that had a similar concept to the MMORPG games we played as children.
What I learned
We learned different ways to solve problems in our code and also found out how long it can take to create something as simple as our minigame.
What's next for Runescape LTE
Runescape LTE was a small project we worked on for this hackathon, but our goal is to one day build on this minigame more and hopefully add more levels.
