Runabull app - Running with bulls and fun! Idea Running is fun. Running has become a lifestyle and a creative expression for our generation. People draw funny doodles through their running routes. With Runabull, we tailor the running experiences to USF students. Not only as a running app but also as a means to engage with campus life. Runabull is a running app specifically on the USF campus. Runabull features GPS tracking, competition-based running, and a dashboard with ranking to foster healthy competition and solve communal issues around campus. Inspiration Couch culture - a culture around comfort, convenience, and passive entertainment. A sedentary life. When you run, you see things closely. You start observing the trees, the building, breathe the air, and feel rythm of life around you. And sharing those moments is the most genuine, raw way to connect with one another. Just a quick picture on your way and an insightful thought on surroundings, you as a runner create a community. We want to put away the couch culture and foster a running culture, where people experience life through running. What it does Or key features include: Runabull.io - Does it sound familiar? Like Paper.io, runners can “own” a piece of land on campus by running and closing a loop. The larger the closed loop you run, the more land you own. Runners will compete for land - whoever has higher points will be the owner of the land. We use pixel, like a 10x10 meter space as a unit, and people can compete to acquire more units. You can draw pictures on your own land using the pixel feature that we have. Like a happy face, with different color, opens up or artistics and creative mind. COMMUNITY APP: Community score - as you go on a run, you take pictures of what is happening around you. Trash in a certain area, police activity, or something fun like an event from Hackabull at the Muma college of business, share what is happening on campus to earn points! It could be that oh, the female restroom is out of female pads in the library, trash is piled up in a certain trash bin on campus, etc. Our app features Google Gemini AI to verify the picture you posted and your description of what is happening matches. For example, you cannot post a picture of a cat and says it is a dog. This prevents spam and low quality content. Scores will be updated in real time based on how much have you run and your contributions to the app. GPS-based and phone movement features - to prevent people from cheating, aside from GPS tracking, we use the phone movement to determine if a person is actually running. This ensure a fair competition among runners, so people need to actually use their physical, running power to win lands! What is new here We focus on building the community. We love the idea of going through your life on your feet. You will observe more, feel more, and actually alive by using Runabull.
Accomplishments Have a full, ready-to-use app that any students can start using now. Create visually attractive pixel-unit land that runners can start crafting their own arts within the land! Run with bulls feature: you can invite your friend, race with friends to compete for routes. It requires you to be strategic aside from physical capacity to win! What’s next OneUSF idea: expand Runabull app to other USF campus in Sarasota and Saint Petersburg. Our idea could be sold to Strava, and scale up to not just for usf, but for other college campus! Strava can adopt our idea to create engaging, outdoorsy communities in different parts of the world.
