Hackathon Project:
Run!! It’s a Monster
This is a fitness app geared to 70-80% of audience who are like common people who are not fitness freaks, or people who workout regularly.
This makes users to run or workout to build their monster. Users are asked to set goals in the beginning and their dashboard and monster builds up according to their goals completion.
It doesn’t matter how long you exercise as long as you have an activity. As the monster is builds its strength throughout the week, its image is modified to reflect either horns, or horrible teeth, etc.
This does have a social component of it, you can challenge your friends at the beginning of the week when you set your goal. At the end of the week, whoever committed more acts of mayhem (aka exercise) has the stronger monster and wins the battle.
At the end of 7 days, all creatures revert to their docile origin and you have to start all over.
The selling point is that is doesn’t matter if you jogged, ran, or just walked around the block. All athletes start at the same level and it is about what you do now, not what you have done in the past.
Badges are awarded to those who complete their goals and those who pummel their adversaries. Badges can be redeemed for permanent accessories like buzzing flies or a bow on the head…these do not enhance your monsters strength, they are just vanity accessories.
Thinking back, we should have simplified with ANGULAR JS and HTML and not worried about the database. LEARNING IS FUN!
