Inspiration

What it does

The inspiration for this project came from the growing interest and adoption of blockchain technology. We wanted to create a simple yet functional client that interacts with the Solana blockchain. The goal was to provide a user-friendly interface for sending and confirming transactions on the Solana network.

How we built it

The project was built using the following steps:

  1. Developed the Client:

    • Created a simple client in TypeScript (client.ts) to manage wallet interactions and transaction submissions.
    • Implemented functions to fetch the wallet balance and send transactions to the Solana blockchain.
    • Utilized the Solana web3.js library to handle blockchain interactions.
  2. Sending Transactions:

    • Implemented a function to construct and send a transaction, then capture and display the transaction hash.
  3. Confirming Transactions:

    • Used the Solana CLI to confirm the status of transactions using the solana confirm command.
    • Implemented a function to fetch and display detailed transaction information from the Solana devnet.

Challenges we ran into

  • Network Configuration: Ensuring the client was correctly configured to interact with the Solana devnet was challenging. There were issues with network latency and ensuring transactions were properly propagated. I then had to rebuild and rerun to resolve the issue.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Successful Transaction Implementation: We successfully implemented a client that can send and confirm transactions on the Solana blockchain, which was our primary goal.

What we learned

Building this project was an enlightening experience. It provided a deep dive into blockchain technology and practical experience with the Solana network.
