Inspiration

A lot of people are cooking at home these days due to social isolation. Sometimes certain ingredients are not available, and we simply need to work with the ingredients we have in a fast and easy way.

What it does

Our app aims to provide users multiple easy ways to record the ingredients they have via either audio recording, picture or typing out the ingredients to get recipe recommendations.

How we built it

We developed a mobile application on Android Studio using Java and Android and incorporated the Vision and, Speech-to-Text APIs.

Challenges we ran into

When developing the speech-text-api, we ran into issues where the speech-text-api had a complicated way to implement the google cloud services, and the tutorials/documentation to help with it was outdated and for old versions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of how the app turned out overall, it is a complete app with 3 different ways to begin your search for recipes using Vision, Audio, or text.
