Inspiration

Honestly, this idea began in a whacky way, but as deadlines encroached on the tougher projects, it was nice to reach for something to distract me from some of the more difficult project details.

What it does

A curated global list of widely known rude gestures, organized by gesture name, description, meaning, and regions where it’s offensive and to what degree. It provides stories around various gestures and quizzes to raise awareness.

How we built it

Expo, Supabase, Netlify, ReactNative. The dream stack for me.

Challenges we ran into

The Quiz took on a "Who wants to be a Millionaire" angle, and parts did not work out. And often times bugs persist and hide in the system long after you thought you'd rooted them out. Curating the images is also hard work and a work in progress.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I really like the Game and appreciated how the idea of "gestures" can be divided and looked at from angles that continued to capture my attention and empathy.
