What it does

Peridot offers a social platform that allows students to post questions and receive help from their peers in advancing their learning. Through voting and answering questions, Peridot provides the perfect environment for every student to have the same chance at success in a much more augmented way than just traditional learning.

How I built it

1. A web scraper that mines the internet for exam questions and parses the data through NLP
2. A front end written in React and Redux

Challenges I ran into

1. Doing the hackathon solo
2. No sleep
3. Not enough time to write a more elaborate devpost

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

1. Finishing the product
2. Great UX
3. No hard coded data

What I learned

I learned FeathersJS, a REST and realtime API layer for modern applications.

What's next for Peridot

I intend to polish this project a little bit more and provide this service free of charge to the open source community.
