Inspiration
Non-competitive and easygoing games are great stress relievers. We often play games, such as mazes and puzzles, to reduce anxiety or help our focus. Both of us enjoy solving Rubik's cube and as we realized that it is not available online a lot, having a Rubik's cube in an accessible and virtual method could be a great way of making a game to destress people.
What it does
It displays a 4x4 Rubik's cube that a user can move and change.
How we built it
By using jMonkeyEngine
Challenges we ran into
As we both code in Java primarily, we needed to learn a game engine that develops a game in Java from scratch
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made a cube with all the colors we wanted to include!
What we learned
It takes more time than expected to get used to a new game engine or technology in general so people should start early.
What's next for Rubik's Cube
We will keep working on it to expand all dimensions in 3D and implement a user interface for the game to be actually played.
